Gas prices to continue to drop
Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.31 per gallon on Sunday in Tennessee, after dropping 8 cents during the past week. The state average has declined for 35 consecutive days. Although Tennessee gas prices are 27 cents less than a month ago, the state average remains 19 cents higher than this time last year. "Motorists have enjoyed a month-long plunge at the pump, after prices skyrocketed because of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma," says Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA . Oil and wholesale gasoline prices inched higher last week, but not high enough to stop the downward trend at the pump. Retail prices are still inflated by a little more than 10 cents as a result of the hurricanes. As a result, motorists should expect another round of discounts this week.
