Johnson arrest
A Hamblen County woman who Wednesday ran over a mailbox in Cocke County was taken into custody a short time later after she was found passed out in her vehicle. Deputy Sgt. Bob Schaff said Amy Johnson, 40, North Street, Whitesburg, ran over the mailbox on Raines Road, but fled the scene. The property owner obtained the tag on her 2004 Dodge pickup at the scene and relayed it to authorities. A short time later Johnson was found passed out in her vehicle at a convenience store on the Cosby Raod. Now Johnson is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and vandalism.
