American Red Cross report
The American Red Cross says it raised $1.6 million to support relief in response to the November 2016 wildfires. The money has gone to Individual Emergency Assistance & Recovery; Food, Shelter & Relief Items; Community Recovery and Health & Emotional Support. The Red Cross says it invests an average of 91 cents of every dollar into humanitarian services and programs. More than 450 Red Cross workers helped thousands of people impacted by the fires, including; more than 3,000 overnight shelter stays nearly 39,000 meals and snacks served The wildfires claimed the lives of 14 people, destroyed more than 2,000 homes and other structures and burned thousands of acres of woodland.
