Wilder tree theft
County authorities are investigating the alleged theft of a quantity of trees from a location on Glendale Road in the Bybee community. Deputy Tony Bailey said he met with Jeffrey A. Wilder, Fowler Drive, Morristown, who reported 29 Walnut and one White Oak tree, were taken from his property recently and the limbs and brush left behind. In addition, Wilder says a road was cut on his property to gain access to the logs. The victim estimates the missing logs are valued at $90,000, and the cost to clean up the limbs and brush will total $10,000, leaving him with a total loss of $100,000.
