Four dead in Sneedville crash
A Sunday morning single-vehicle crash on Main Street in Sneedville claimed the lives of the four occupants. Trooper Anthony Bull said the 12:08 am crash occurred in a 25 mile per hour zone. It involved a 2014 Ford operated by Dustin Johnson, 31 of Tazewell. The passengers are identified as Jesse Weems, 19, Bulls Gap; Starla Dalton,22, Sneedville and Deidra L. Seal, 23, Sneedville. Trooper Bull said Johnson was westbound when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The auto continued on hitting a parked 2005 Dodge pickup. Although Johnson was wearing a seatbelt, his passengers were not, however Trooper Bull says seatbelts would not have made a difference. Seal was taken to Holston Valley Hospital where she died later on Sunday. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors in the crash.
