More trees stolen in Cocke County
For the second time in a week, Cocke County authorities are investigating the theft of trees. Larry Rouse, Ash, North Carolina, told Deputy Tony Bailey that he visited his property on Costner Raod in Cosby and discovered that 100 pine trees had been cut down. Rouse says the incident left him with a $50,000 loss. Earlier this week local officers were told a total of 30 walnut and maple trees were cut down and hauled away from Glendale Road in the Bybee community. The loss in that incident reportedly totals $100,000.
