Davis indictment
A Hartford woman has been indicted by the Cocke County Grand Jury on a number of charges stemming from the alleged theft of medications from a woman who now is deceased. Shelby Marie Davis, 43, Hound Dog Trail, is charged with the Abuse and Neglect of an Adult as well as Theft. The presentment charges that Davis, other than by accidental means, took medication intended for Rhonda Freeman, from May, 2016 through December 2016. The defendant allegedly took a Schedule II medication and replaced it with medication "that has no medicinal value for pain relief." Mrs. Freeman died in December 2016 at the age of sixty-one. The case was investigated by Tracy Ivy, a Criminal Investigator for the Office of District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn.
