McCabe/Johnson arrests
Two persons were taken into custody on Tuesday after Cocke County narcotics officers served a search warrant on a Granite Way, Newport residence. Agent Chuck Evans said officers accompanied by Sheriff Armando Fontes went to the home of Robert Dean McCabe, 70, and Autumn Lynn Johnson, 35, following numerous undercover Oxycodone buys from McCabe. The officer said it was the second search warrant to be served on McCabe in recent years. Two weapons were found in McCabe's bedroom, one of which was loaded. Oxycodone was seized, but 149 of the pills were missing. Digital scales also were found, along with numerous power equipment believed to be stolen items. Oxycodone and marijuana also were found in the bedroom of Johnson. She said she spends $500 per month on her prescriptions and pain clinic visits. In addition, the woman said she has been addicted to the pills for 15 years. McCabe who is a convicted felon with a previous cocaine conviction, is charged with possession of weapons by a convicted felon, sale and delivery of Oxycodone, possession of another weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson is charged with two counts sale and delivery of Oxycodone as well as possession of marijuana.
