Roe to seek re-election
First District Congressman Phil Roe, a Republican, announced Thursday he will seek re-election to his seat. "When I first ran for Congress, I wanted to lend my expertise as a doctor to the debate over how to improve our nationís health care system. As a veteran, I also felt strongly about improving the care and benefits that our nationís heroes receive. After being selected by my colleagues to chair the House Committee on Veteransí Affairs and to co-chair of the House GOP Doctors Caucus, I believe I can help ensure East Tennesseansí voice is heard loud and clear on some of the most important issues facing our region and nation. We are making real progress on behalf of East Tennessee, and Iím excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our country. For this reason Iíve decided to seek another term in Congress."
