Carson Springs home destroyed by fire
Fire destroyed a mobile home in the Carson Springs community of Cocke County early Wednesday morning. The blaze on Chestnut Ridge Drive was reported at 12:30 am according to Lt. Robert Cashen of the Cocke County Fire Department. Firefighters say the cause of the blaze in the residence owned by Keith Little and occupied by Jennifer Mays, has not been determined. Mays said she was awakened by her barking dog, allowing her to escape the residence without injury. Lt. Cashen said firefighters reported hearing smoke detectors sounding when they arrived on the scene. The loss, including the home and contents, is estimated at $56,000.
