TVA overcharges
A recently completed Office of Inspector General audit says the Tennessee Valley Authority made an error when calculating the monthly fuel cost adjustment for customers of it's distributors. Auditors found TVA overcharged residential and business customers by $562,000 or about 33 cents for the average customer. But the audit determined that industrial customers were undercharged by $528,000. TVA Spokesperson Scott Brooks says corrections were made to prevent future errors. The error occurred from October 2015 through November 2017.
