Mullins arrest
Cocke County authorities have arrested a Morristown man in connection with an alleged robbery and theft over $1,000, in December, 2016. Jonathan Wesley Mullins, 30, Central Church Road was arrested by Deputy Chris Barnes. The charges stem from a report by Melissa Gossett who told Newport police that she was seated in her vehicle when Mullins grabbed her purse as she was exiting her auto. Gossett had a partial name of her attacker and later was able to identify Mullins from a six-person lineup. The victim told Newport Detective Jason Ramsey that her purse contained $950 in cash along with four bottles of different narcotics valued at $350.
