Fishing tournament today
The T-H Marine FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) tournament season will continue today for Volunteer Division anglers with a tournament on Douglas Lake. Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000 respectively in the one-day tournament. Mountain Cove Marina in Kodak, will host the fishing tournament which is expected to be excellent for anglers competing in the tournament. Previous winners of BFL events held on Douglas Lake this time of year targeted bass on rock ledges using jigs. Other competitors may prefer to scour the lake’s ledges using swimbaits, or work through creek channels throwing spinnerbaits. Crankbaits have also been a good bet for bass on humps and points in deeper water. A five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds will likely be enough to take home top honors at this Volunteer Division event. FLW is the world’s largest tournament-fishing organization, providing anglers of all skill levels the opportunity to compete for millions in prize money in 2018 across five tournament circuits. FLW and their partners conduct 286 bass-fishing tournaments annually around the world, including the United States, Canada, China, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, Portugal, South Africa and Spain.
