Grants for East Tennessee Artscapes
Steve Southerland, representing Senate District 01, has released a list of grant award recipients from the Tennessee Arts Commission in his district. This is the first of a series of grants that will be made throughout the year. Two grants will benefit East Tennessee Artscapes in Cocke County. Shanon Kelly of the Artscapes organization tell the NewsSource that the grants total 4800 for youth enrichment and rural arts project support. "I am very pleased to announce these investments for arts programming in Tennessee's communities and schools," said Senator Southerland. "We have seen all across Tennessee, that investment in the arts adds value to communities-promoting and increasing quality of life, economic development, tourism and education."
