Cosby motorhome fire
Three Cocke County fire agencies, responded Wednesday to a motor home fire in the Cosby community. Cosby Volunteer Fire Lt. Bob Chiaradio said the 4 pm. incident occurred on the Stewart Samples property on Middle Way. The owner of the Winnebago motorhome, Roger Samples, told firefighters he started the engine, it backfired and the engine erupted in flames. The motorhome was destroyed along with an outbuilding which was within two feet of the RV. In addition, the siding on the nearby home also was melted by the heat from the fire. The total loss is placed at $27,500. The Cocke County Fire Department and the Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department assisted in the firefighting effort.
