Myers arrest
A Cocke County man faces charges after he contacted the mother of his child in violation of an Order of Protection. Jaqueline Hall, River Rest Way, told Newport Captain Stephen Higginbotham that she agreed to meet Joey Myers, 35, Cider Way, Parrottsville on Sunday so he could see his son despite the order. Hall said she met Myers because she is afraid of him. During the meeting, Myers allegedly armed with a knife, took the four year-old boy and fled the scene. Later in the evening, Myers agreed to meet Newport Patrol Officer William Garber at which time to surrendered the boy. At that point Myers was taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Violation Of An Order Of Protection.
