Myers incident
A man who had been reported missing to Newport police earlier on Tuesday arrived at his home at 5:45 pm. Kenneth Myers, 35, Ratcliff Street, Newport, told Deputy Lt. Bob Schaff that he was backing from the driveway of his home at 10:45 am when he lost control and backed down an embankment into a wooded area. Myers told the officer he was knocked unconscious in the incident but regained consciousness an hour before police were notified. The injured man said when he awoke he was able to leave his vehicle, crawl up the hill and make his way to his front porch. The victim appeared confused and to be hurting. , and First Call EMS took him to the Newport Medical Center. Myers wife had reported him missing to Newport Police earlier in the day.
