Jefferson defendants plead guilty A number of defendants this week pleaded guilty to charges pending against them in Jefferson County Circuit Court, including several who faced methamphetamine charges. Jeremy John Cline, 46, St. John Drive, Dandridge pleaded guilty to charges of Possession of Heroin and Methamphetamine With The Intent To Sell And Deliver, Simple Possession of Morphine, Oxymorphone and a Legend Drug, as well as Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Judge Duane Slone ordered Cline to serve six months in jail of an eight year term with the balance on supervised probation, and pay $6,500 in fines. undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and attend a drug education class. William Stanley Buttry, 30, White Ridge, White Pine, entered a plea to Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent To Sell and Deliver, Domestic Assault, two counts Assault, vandalism, Possession of Contraband in the Jail and Attempted Escape. Buttry was charged with the assault of Ashley Brown, Jerry Morris and Tara Morrow on May 31. Judge Slone imposed an eight year sentence, ordered Buttry to serve 12 months in jail with the balance on supervised probation. The defendant may have no contact with the victims. Douglas Alan Caughron, 48, Seymour, entered pleas to Possession of Methamphetamine, Theft Over $2,500, Evading Arrest By Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment, Possession of Methamphetamine, Tampering With or Fabricating Evidence, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Reckless Driving and Second Offense Driving On A Suspended License. Caughron was given a four year sentence, he will serve 90 days with the balance on supervised probation. He also was ordered to pay restitution. In October 2017, Caughron stole a Volvo owned by Douglas Sizemore and then fled from officers, placing others in imminent danger of death or serious injury. All of the defendants also were ordered to undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and attend a drug education class.
