Fox arrest
Cocke County authorities early this morning responded to Strawberry Way, Newport on reports of a trespasser and ended up jailing a subject. Dalton Wade Fox, 24, Pleasant Grove Road, Newport had dropped a small baggie of methamphetamine and then allegedly tried to kick it under the vehicle. Inside the auto, Deputy Sgt. Max Laughter says he found six additional baggies of methamphetamine, marijuana, Xanax, set of scales, a needle and syringes in the vehicle. In addition, a two year-old child was asleep in the vehicle, and Fox was driving on a suspended license. Now he is being held on a $35,000 bond, on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine For Resale, Tampering With Evidence, Possession Of Marijuana And Drug Paraphernalia, Child Neglect And Endangerment, Driving While In Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving On A Revoked License. Sgt. Laughter also made a referral to the Department of Children's Services.
