Infant death is investigated
The Cocke County Sheriff's Department and the Tennessee Department of Children's Services are involved in an investigation into the death of a 14 week old infant. Colton Myers died on Friday. The infant's mother, Manda Jackson, 22, Country View Way, Newport told Deputy Aaron Loveday she awoke at 4:30 am to find her child face dawn, and not breathing in his crib at 9:30 am. She and the infant's father, David Myers, then called 911. Deputy Loveday says both parents were drug tested as part of the investigation. An autopsy also has been ordered.
