East Broadway street work
Clint W. Hammonds, Water Works Manager for Newport Utilities has issued an update on work being conducted on East Broadway. Work is progressing eastward, and the project is nearing the end of the downtown area. " Most likely by the week of September 24th, work will be progressing east of Baer Avenue. This means we will be out of the way for the Newport Harvest Street Festival on October 6th & 7th.," says Hammonds. Monday paving work was done on the western half of the block between McSween Ave and Court Ave. Today the work area will move to the eastern half of the block between McSween Ave. and Court Ave. and also will include the Court Ave. intersection. NU reminds the public that although routes may be altered, access to all businesses will remain open.
