Valentine injury
A medical condition may have contributed to a Monday crash which seriously injured a Cocke County woman. Cocke County Deputy Michael Shelton said Carla Valentine, 46, Wildwood Drive, Cosby was driving a 2008 Nissan on the Old Hartford Road at 2:30 pm when the vehicle left the roadway near Rich Top Way. The auto struck a tree, and went down an embankment near the Pigeon River. The husband of the driver said she had medical issues similar to those of a diabetic. According to Deputy Shelton, Ms. Valentine was not wearing her seat belt. She sustained suspected serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
