Assad lawsuit
A Knoxville man has filed a major lawsuit in Cocke County Circuit Court as the result of a May 24 incident on Intersate 40 in Cocke County. Saad Asaad says he was helping his brother, who was having mechanical issues with his motorcycle. The plaintiff alleges he was standing on the right shoulder of the interstate near milemarker 428, next to the motorcycles that he and his brother were riding. As he stood there, Assad says a large motor home operated by John Hoult, Saint Ignace, Michigan, crossed over onto the shoulder. The lawsuit says the large protruding mirror and the stand for the camper awning, struck Asaad violently. According to the action, the plaintiff sustained severe physical and emotional injuries, as well as distress. As a result, Asaad demands compensatory damages of $1 million.
