Jefferson City arrests
Jefferson City authorities say a report of a suspicious vehicle last Friday resulted in the arrest of two persons on multiple charges. Just before 6:30 am, officers responded to a complaint on Summit Heights where Lt. Joe West discovered an SUV parked in the roadway with the driver apparently “passed out”. During the subsequent investigation, officers discovered a stolen handgun, methamphetamine and marijuana in the auto. The driver, Dantez M. Jones, 27, of Morristown, was taken into custody and charged with DUI, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell or deliver, possession of stolen property, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license. His passenger, Dionnica D. Wilson, 36, of Greeneville, was charged with DUI by consent, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell or deliver, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. Officers seized more than $1,000 in cash and a Wilson's Kia Sorento. Both suspects were jailed in the Jefferson County Justice Center.
