Walker injury
A Sneedville man sustained suspected serious injuries Friday night when his vehicle slammed into a wall in Cocke County. Newport Patrol Officer Jonathan Ball said the incident involving Trinity Walker, 40, Walt Parker Road, occurred just before 11 pm at the intersection of Highways 25/70 and 411. A witness, Johns Spencer, told the officer that Walker appeared not to break as he passed through the intersection, striking the wall. The dash of the 2004 Honda was pushed onto Walker, breaking the driver's seat. In addition, the front portion of the auto was shoved into the firewall, pinning the driver in the vehicle. Walker was extricated by personnel with the Newport Fire Department, and then transported by First Call EMS to the Cocke County Fairgrounds. From there he was flown by medical helicopter to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
