Election Day in Tennessee
Today is election day in Tennessee and the polls will be open till 8:00 pm at all precincts. Voters must vote at their assigned polling place and must be in line at the correct polling place before 8:00 pm on Tuesday night. Those in line before 8:00 p.m. at the correct precinct will be allowed to vote as long as they are in line before 8:00 p.m. Cocke County egistered voters may call 623-2042 to double-check their polling location or may use the website GoVoteTN.com. If you are a Cocke County registered voter but have moved within the County and need to update your current address, please call the election commission office at 623-2042 on today or Monday to plan ahead for Election Day so you will be at the right precinct. Voters are required to bring a valid photo ID issued by the Tennessee government (such as a Tennessee Driver Licence with photo or Carry Permit) or by the federal government (such as a Passport or valid military ID with photo). Out-of-state driver licenses cannot be accepted. For more information about the photo ID law visit GoVoteTN.com or call the election commission office. Registered voters are not required to bring their voter registration cards when voting.
