Hembree/deer collision
An eight year-old boy sustained minor injuries Thursday morning when the car in which he was riding struck a ten point white tailed buck on the Cosby Road in Cocke County. Cocke County Deputy Aaron Loveday said Danielle Hembree, 28,Hartford Road, Cosby was operating a 2016 Ford Focus at 8:15 am when the incident occurred just south of the Armory Road intersection. "She was headed south when the deer jumped in front of her and all the airbags deployed on impact," Officer Loveday said. Although Hembree was not injured, her passenger Ethan Jenkins sustained minor injuries from the airbag and his seat belt. He did not require medical treatment. The car sustained heavy damage and the buck did not survive.
