Ball arrest
A woman observed climbing over a gate to enter the recreation area of the Cocke County jail now is in custody. Deputy Daniel Smith said Lisa Nicole Ball, 27, Fowler Grove Road, Newport, was observed on surveillance camera, at 10:15 pm on Sunday, and was found to be in possession of two bicycle tire inner tubes filled with tobacco, lighters and rolling papers. After being taken into custody, Ball also was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle in her bra. Now she faces charges of criminal trespass, introduction of contraband into a penal institution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
