Efforts underway to identify body The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the body discovered on the shore of Douglas Lake in Dandridge this past weekend. Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Coffey said the unidentified complainant was walking on his property when he noticed a suspicious bag next to the lake shore. Later upon further investigation, deputies determined that the bag contained human remains. Sheriff Coffey said investigators are searching for further evidence that may be related to "the recovery of the homicide victim." “The victim appears to be that of an adult male. He was wearing a Walking Dead t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the recovery. We did recover the name “Gerald” from the clothing and there were no visible tattoos,” the sheriff said on Wednesday. He asks that anyone who has any information regarding a missing male call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office 865-397-9411 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI FIND.
