Ownby arrest
A Cocke County man was arrested Wednesday by Newport Patrol Officer Jonathan Ball on a charge he violated his probation. Travis Brent Owenby, 35, was serving 10 years on probation when he allegedly was charged with a drug offense, charges stemming from a pursuit including evading arrest, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident in March. Then in May, he allegedly told Detective Josh Holt of the Newport PD that "if Detective Derrick Webb continues to harass him that he would end up hurting him."
