Owenby indictment
A federal grand jury seated in US District Court in Greeneville has returned an indictment naming Travis Brent Owenby, 35, North Susong Street, Newport, on firearms charges. The indictment alleges that Owenby in November 2018 possessed two rifles, a pistol and ammunition. Then in May of this year, Owenby allegedly possessed a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition. He was previously convicted of a felony and so Owenby faces two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The case is being prosecuted by Asst. US Attorney Robert Reeves.
