Irish Cut fire
A Tuesday morning fire destroyed a medium sized brick home in the Irish Cut community of Cocke County. Firefighters said they responded to the residence owned by Sue Hartsell on Irish Cut Road at 6:20 am. Upon arrival they found smoke coming from the structure. Authorities believe the blaze began in the basement of the home which was under renovation. Personnel with the Del Rio Volunteer ire Department also responded to the fire, however firefighters were unable to control the spread of the flames. The cause and the dollar loss in the blaze have not been determined.
