Females charged with disorderly house
Two female residents of Newport have been cited into court on a charge they "maintained a disorderly house." Newport Patrol Officer Jordan Douglas said between June 7 and July 17, officers were sent to the residence of Lisa Ellison, 52 and Mitzi Gibson, 48, on the Cosby Highway, on 16 occasions. Those calls resulted in nine arrests including three for fights, including one which involved a firearm. There were three drug investigations, including one involving children, and which required the involvement of the Department of Children's Services. Another of the calls involved a drug overdose. While Ellison is the renter of the apartment, Officer Douglas said Gibson was involved in most of the incidents.
