Watson search continues
New details on the escape of Curtis Watson’ and the death of Corrections Officer Debra Johnson were released Friday. An autopsy found that Ms. Johnson died from strangulation and she had also been sexually assaulted. She was found with a cord wrapped around her neck. At last report the manhunt was continuing for Watson who killed Johnson before he escaped from a Lauderdale County prison TBI officials said Thursday they issued three warrants naming Watson for first-degree murder, especially aggravated burglary, and aggravated sexual battery. He was serving a 15 year sentence for kidnapping. The reward for Watson’s capture went up to $52,500 after the FBI and U.S. Marshals pitched in $10,000 each, and The Outdoor Advertising Association of Tennessee also gave the TBI space on digital billboards across the state.
