I-40 fire slows traffic
Traffic on westbound I-40 was slowed early Friday morning when a tractor trailer caught fire at 4:20 am. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says traffic was slowed near the 417 mile marker when the trailer, loaded with aerosol dispensers and paint related materials, became engulfed in flames. The driver, Jerry Harvey, 59, New Tazewell, TN., disconnected his tractor from the trailer and was able to save it from the fire. The Dandridge Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the blaze which destroyed the trailer and its contents.
