Hagerty to run for US Senate
Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Bill Hagerty has filed to run for Tennessee's open U.S. Senate seat, nearly two months after President Donald Trump announced Hagerty was running. Hagerty issued a statement saying, "With President Trump's support, I'm ready to fight for your family in the U.S. Senate" The 59-year-old Hagerty joins trauma surgeon Manny Sethi for the nomination to the seat being vacated by Lamar Alexander. Hagerty says he's running to in his words "fight the radical socialist agenda" while displaying images of female members of congress. And he promised to support Trump's mission to build a $10 billion wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
