GFL Environmental donation to DAV
Members of the Disabled American Veterans Post 102 in Newport on Tuesday accepted a contribution from GFL Environmental, formerly Waste Industries. Rob Watkins, past Senior Vice Commander of the post, said the contribution is the second this year. He said the firm makes charitable contributions to various non-profit organizations, in fact in July the firm contributed $1,500 for a new flag pole at the post. "This $10,000 given to the DAV will later be given to the Cocke County Veterans Services to be used toward the purchase of a newer van," said Watkins.
