Allen/Olden arrest
Two men were taken into custody Thursday night in connection with a September 24 incident involving guns in Newport. Newport Captain Detective Derrick Webb said Jordan Allen, 32, Dykes Street, Newport and Todd Allen, 34, Alex Street, Newport, threatened Eric Phillips and Stacie Jarvis at their home on Graham Street. During the incident, investigators say buth suspects racked their handguns. As Allen left on a motor scooter, he allegedly fired one shot into the air. Olden fled in a Hyundai and was chased to the nearby Manor Apartments where he abandoned the car and fled on foot. Thursday evening police received information that the suspects were at the Jessica Walker home on Dykes Street so they were there. On orders of the police Olden crawled into the hallway on his hands and knees. He was taken into custody on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, aggravated assault and felony fleeing and evading police. At the jail, Olden was found to be in possession of oxymorphone, acetaminophen and oxycodone, and so he is also charged with those offenses. Allen was found hiding in a bedroom closet covered in clothes. He is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Jessica Walker was taken into custody on a warrant which charges her with failure to appear for a court hearing.
