"A Glimpse into Our Wars," exhibit
Rob Watkins of the Disabled American Veterans in Newport, says this coming weekend is the last three days of this year's "A Glimpse into Our Wars," exhibit at the National Guard Armory on Armory Road. The event features military arts and artifacts. On Sunday at 4 pm, Daryl Brady will be speaking on behalf of US Representative Phil Roe Republican of the First District. That will be followed by the presentation of 11 Quilts of Valor. Watkins says the armory likely will be the site of a similar annual event by the DAV. Also on November 16, at 2 pm, the DAV Chapter 102 will be dedicating its new 35' flagpole.
