Straw Plains crash
A dump truck driver was injured in a single vehicle crash in Jefferson County on Tuesday, and as a result, Highway 11E in Strawberry Plains was closed for several hours. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Willard Phillips, 57, Rocky Top, lost control of his 2006 Mack at 12:43 pm near the Big Bend Road/Old Dandridge Highway intersection. The truck rolled and burst into flames, resulting in injuries that sent Phillips to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
