Cocke County crash
Both drivers were injured in a Saturday afternoon crash on Highway 321 at the Epley Road intersection in Cocke County on Saturday. Lt. Richard Garrison of the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the 1:20 pm crash occurred when Freddy Hale, 61 of Parrottsville, traveling on Epley Road, failed to stop for the stop sign at Highway 321. As he traveled into the intersection, Hale's 2004 Nissan was hit by Jeromy Moss, 32, of Newport who was operating a 1995 Ford F150 pickup southbound. Both drivers were taken to the Newport Medical Center by First Call EMS for treatment. Two passengers in the Moss vehicle were not injured. Hale is charged with failure to yield the right of way, and no insurance.
