Tennessee economic report
A new report is out which shows Tennessee continues to see healthy economic growth. According to the Tennessee Quarterly Business and Economic Indicators Report, 11,585 new entity filings were recorded in the third quarter of 2019 by the Secretary of State's Division of Business Services. The growth was in part the result of 2017 tax cuts which gave consumers more spending money but added $4.1 trillion to the national debt, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Dr. William F. Fox, director of the Boyd Center for Business & Economic Research at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, shared highlights of the report's findings. saying the US is currently in the longest economic expansion in it's history, and the report indicates the expansion will continue through the next year. Fox also said the state added 45,000 new businesses in the past year, with most of the growth coming in the four largest counties.
