Cocke County dump truck crash
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says no injuries resulted Monday afternoon when a Cocke County Highway Department dump truck struck a car at the intersection of Highway 321 and Wilton Springs Road. The 3:19 pm crash involved a 1997 International dump truck operated by Charles McClure, 58, Newport and a 2006 Pontiac operated by Leseanda Serna, 27 also of Newport. Serna also had three passengers in her car, aged six, 34 and 46. McClure was traveling north on Hwy 321 at the Wilton Springs Rd intersection, and Serna was stopped on Wilton Springs Road for traffic at the intersection. The truck driver swerved onto the Wilton Springs Road to avoid a vehicle that drove into his lane of travel and stopped. At that point, the truck struck the Serna car on the left side.
