Worex-Parker has been terminated Update)
An officer with the Tennessee Department of Probation and Parole who was indicted by the Cocke County Grand Jury on a felony charge alleging that she initiated the filing of a false police report, has been terminated. Linda Cheryl Worex-Parker, 50, Golden Walk Way, Newport was named on the sealed presentment returned earlier this month, which alleges the defendant reported her vehicle stolen and then filed an insurance claim, knowing the claim was false. Worex-Parker was taken into custody at her workplace, the Tennessee Department of Probation and Parole office in Morristown. Assistant DA Tim Horne of the First Judicial District who is prosecuting the case said Worex-Parker has been pulled from field duty and was assigned to other duties. On Wednesday, Robert Reburn, Public Information Officer for the Department of Correction said Worex-Parker was terminated on January 14.
