New Market robbery The New Market Police Department is asking for the help of the public in identifying a white male who Saturday robbed the New Market Grocery on West Highway 11E. Surveillance video shows the robber, armed with a handgun and wearing a dark-colored, partial mask, jump over the counter at about 9 pm, and point the firearm at the two clerks. New Market Chief of Police Chuck Devotie said the robber appeared to be approximately 5’8” - 5’10” tall, weighing about 180lbs. The suspect who wore what appears to be a white hoodie was seen on a surveillance camera both entering the market and leaving on foot. Members of the public who see this suspect or anyone matching this description should call Jefferson County Central Dispatch at 865-475-6855.
