Krystal files for Chapter 11
The Krystal Co. has filed for bankruptcy reorganization. The Atlanta-based firm filed for Chapter 11 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Atlanta, reporting assets between $10 million and $50 million and liabilities between $50 million and $100 million. In Chapter 11, a company remains open for business while it tries to reorganize its debts. Krystal operates about 182 restaurants spread across nine states, including in Newport and Sevierville. The company and it's affiliates employ approximately 4,900 employees.
