Jones arrest
A South Carolina man is in custody after he stole the vehicle of a pizza delivery driver, Saturday evening in Newport. Joshua Kennedy told Newport patrol Officer Jessy Burgess he delivered a pizza to the Best Western Motel on the Cosby Road, and as he exited his vehicle, was approached by a Dustin Jones, 36, Grove City, South Carolina, who said he had ordered the pizza. Kennedy however refused to give him the pizza, and instead delivered it to the motel room. Kennedy told police that he looked from the motel balcony and saw Jones getting into his car. The delivery man ran down the steps and was able to stop the fleeing Jones. The subject then jumped from the 2005 Honda and ran away. Police arrested him some distance away and jailed him on a charge of theft over $1,000.
