Bledsoe shooting
Newport police are investigating a shooting they believe to be accidental. Patrol Officer Joshyua Shults said he responded to the reported shooting Friday evening at the Summit Ridge Road, home of Dustin Bledsoe, 31. Officer Shults says Bledsoe's roommate, Myra James said she and Bledsoe had argued and they both reached for the weapon at the same time. At that time the weapon discharged striking Bledsoe on the right forearm. The injured man 2was taken by First Call EMS to the Newport Medical center and he later was flown to the UT Medical Cente rin Knoxville, for treatment. Newport Detective Scott Lamb is continuing the investigation.
