Proffitt arrest
Cocke County authorities have filed charges against a Cosby man who allegedly fired shots at a vehicle Monday night. Cocke County Lt. David Moriarty said the 9 pm incident involved Timity Steven Proffitt, 29, Giles Road, Cosby. Proffitt reportedly argued with his girlfriend, Lauren Gabbard, and as she left the scene, he fired shots from the roadway. The subject then went to the home of a neighbor while in an intoxicated condition. The neighbor called 911 to say that Proffitt was at the door of the residence trying to get in, and described him as armed and dangerous. Lt. Moriarty said the neighbors are wary of Proffitt and Gabbard was unwilling to cooperate, because of her fear of the subject. Proffitt was jailed on charges of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, possession of a handgun while under the influence, disorderly conduct, false police report and public intoxication.
