Steiner injured in freak accident
A Cosby woman was injured Wednesday morning in a single vehicle mishap on her driveway. Ella Sue Steiner, 54, told Cocke County Sgt. Max Laughter, she was driving down her steep, muddy driveway off West Tan Bark Trail, when her brakes failed and she began to slide on the driveway. When Steiner realized she had lost control of her 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, she jumped from the vehicle landing in a ditch. The auto continued down the driveway, coming to rest in a creek. Ms. Steiner who is believed to have sustained a fractured arm, was taken by First Call EMS to the Newport Medical Center.
